G.I. Goody

Okay, instead of doing the normal Sunday Funnies today, I've decided to offer up some more G.I. Goodies! There's a new Yorkie puppy on the way, so I need help picking out a name for her. Here's what the winner gets:
  • 10 yards of ribbon
  • Prima flowers
  • Bazzill flowers
  • Foofala buttons
  • Rub-ons
  • "Honk if you Scrapbook!" sign
  • ...and more!!!
The rules of this contest are easy:
  1. Puppy name suggestions must be made by leaving a comment to this post.
  2. You may suggest as many names as you'd like.
  3. You have one week to nominate.

I will pick my favorite name and announce the winner on my blog next week. Be creative!

I have always liked the name *Scrappy* for a puppy and it fits scrapping too.

I will go with "Paisley" since it is my favourite shape and sounds cute ;)

I'll put on my thinking cap and try to come up with other names later :)

I like Princess for a Yorkie since they are so easy to spoil. :)

Is the puppy a boy or a girl?

Unknown said...

Oops. I see that you said "her" so that tells me it's a girl. lol Not too quick today, am I?

Daquiri is a fun name, and Chick or Chickie. I'll come back if I remember more.

Congrats on getting a new puppy!! The names that come to mind are:
Gabby
Lily
Aggie
PC (for peaches and cream)

Thanks for the chance to win your goodies and good luck with your new friend (hope you'll post a picture).

Hmmm...I volunteer at our SPCA and have to come up with names for our cats, although we often stick to 'people names' as we try to be a little bit original. Assuming it is a girl, how about Molly, Martini (tini for short - we actually own twin cats that are named Martini and Rossi), Sadie, Emily, Munchkin, Peanut, Libby...
I'm running out. Good luck with your new puppy!!

We had a toy poodle that was a white fluff as a pup, and we named her Minni since she was so small. It fit her well. :)

My adorable pups name is Justice...and my next pup will be named Liberty.

Congratulations on your new puppy! We had a little cocker spaniel named Bandit - she was a cutie. I always liked that name. Another we had was named Muppet.

When I was younger my grandma had an elderly couple that lived next door to her named Doc and Tinsy. I have a Chihuahua and have kicked myself several times for not naming her Tinsy. Hope you like them. :)

hi laura,
new puppy how fun, ok how about Sparkles or Lacey?

I believe it's not a good example, but after having a dog named "psycho" (my brother named it) - I named the next dog "mad" (mad dog! :-)) - she was the opposite of mad, but she didn't understand the meaning... LOL
After many years my brother named his puppy "push".
These are my suggestions.. LOL

Hi, Congrats on your new baby.
They are true companions, and will love you no matter what.
I have a name and I love it.
I use to have a Bishon and named her Popcorn Polly. For short I called her Popsie. I hope you like.
God bless!

We recently got a Boston Terrier puppy and my husband really wanted to name her Diva, but my kids didn't like it. He still might be a little bitter about it, so I thought he might feel better if someone named their dog Diva.

I LOVE human names for pets. They are our kids, after all :) For a cute little Yorkie girl since this is G.I. Goodies, how about Jane? Simple and sweet and so unexpected for a dogbaby. If you want more sophisticated, I love the name Bella or Olivia and you could call her Ollie for short. Oh I like that.

I can't believe nobody has said, "Baby" b/c that's what I end up calling all my furbabies...no matter what their real name is. My sister has a Yorkie named Evie.
I love Yorkies!

Brenda said...

Ok since you are Babydoll of course I will suggest Doll..knowing you with the Paisley thats a true fit always, however I can see you with a puppy named " Breit " as in Mary Englebreit ! ( our fav ). My husband had a dog named " Puddles " for obvious reasons, he was a cutie pants. My favorite dog was " Gypsie" ...and now for my final suggestion...
" Brie "

I'm a big proponent of naming a dog something other than a "human" name. Mainly because you just don't name your child Coach or Rascal, so why not take advantage of the chance to widen the creative pool with a pet?

We named our Labrador "Dribbler." My brother had dogs named Hoopster, Rebound and Shooter (whose brother he named Leaver -- say them together and you get a country western song) so everybody in my family understood instantly what I was honoring with the Dribbler name.

We're Hoosiers, you understand.

But a lot of folks outside the inner circle thought we named him after his urinary habits. Which, for a small dog, might be appropriate!

How about Pepper? Her fur is brown and black....like ground pepper. I had a shih-tzu that was those colors and that's the name I chose for her. BTW her mom's name is Sugar and the very first name I came up with was Splenda....cause she was made from sugar...HA I said if she ever had pups I would name them Cinnamon, nutmeg, Ginger and basil, with a short A. Oh another fun name is Cayenne. I guess I like spice names.
