Poppy Ink

OK, this post is purely a rant about Poppy Ink. They are supposed to have THE best kits available, but so far.... I am NOT HAPPY! First of all, it took FOREVER for my first kit to arrive. I was SO excited for it to come, but my paper was torn and wrinkled!!!! You do know that famous saying, don't you?! "Hell hath no fury like a scrapbooker whose paper is messed up!" That's a real saying! I'm totally serious. Anyhow, my rub-ons were partially rubbed off already, AND my buttons were missing! I figured this was a simple little mistake, so I called and emailed the company. They were on vacation! Grrr... Eventually I did get a reply email asking me to send PROOF of my damages! I have never heard of such a thing. I guess I could have understood a bit if I had gotten an apology and a polite request, but they were downright RUDE about it. At the time I didn't have a digital camera, so I had to scan in my damaged goods the best that I knew how. Again, I waited for a response. This time I was even more angry. Do you know what they said?! "(We) can refund you half the amount because of the damage(...) Also the rub-ons are a manufacturing issue and if you contact the manufacturer they will send you out a replacement." What!? I don't get reimbursed for the whole page? Wait! There's more! The rub-ons were not their fault so it was MY responsibility to contact the manufacturer! What crappy customer service. They also said they would send me buttons, but a week later... no buttons. Of course! I contacted them again, but alas that kit was no longer available, so I ended up having to just deal with it. Are you kidding me? Since then, none of my kits have been stellar and none of my kits have arrived even close to when I was told they would. I have spent a lot of money on these kits, but I haven't gotten the product I was promised. It seems like that company is always on vacation and always sluffing the blame of their product mistakes. I give Poppy Ink two big fat thumbs down and one kiss my butt! (Too bad I already paid for six months of subscriptions...)

If you paid for this by credit card, call your card company. They are usually really good about solving these issues. They'll put the charge as a "dispute" and credit your card. They'll want to know you tried to work it out. Then they take over from there. Some card companies are better than others, but its worth a try.

I agree with Laura... If you're not getting anywhere with Poppy Ink, then you should probably dispute the charge. Sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time! :(

What a PITA - I hate getting damaged products - I would definitley be contacting the manufacturer of the faulty product.

Doesnt PI kits realise how valuable word of mouth is for scrapbooking products/kits - not good on their part to be treating their customers like this.

I got my GI Goodies today too Laura - thanks heaps :)

I had a bad experience with a kit clug that I was signed up for for on year. they kept getting worse and worse and the owners were downright nasty with everyone. I ended up cancelling my credit card just to keep them from charging me anymore. then she started calling me (I never gave her my number) and then writing. I have not used her last three kits at all.

Well you are getting them back in a way...simply giving them a bad review. Word of mouth is very effective and they will feel it in the long run, especially if they are rude too. You probably won't hear much about that company in a few years. Those are the kind that slowly die out. Huh...I have even thought about doing that too, not now. Thanks for the review! (see what I mean about losing customers)

wow! Thanks for the warning.

That is really weird. I had an missing product and they not only sent me the product right away but something extra. Others I have seen have also said they go above and beyond for customer service. I love them and think this must have been a rare experience, the exception and surely not the norm. Sorry about your experience though.

Well I agree with you. I have to always email twice. I was never told my missing product was on its way. I have had were I had 2 questions and they only answer one of them. I have never gotten anything extra for my missing items. I have had a lot of missing items. They never go over and beyond... So I completely agree with you.

Yup, word of mouth does the trick! I was thinking about getting their kits and now I don't want one!
