Pictures From Home

I just wanted to share a couple pictures I took while I was home.... I'm not sure why I took this picture. I just like it!I'm surrounded by cornfields here in Tennessee, but they're so much different than the ones I grew up around. I took this picture in the side yard of my grandparents' old farm house. Even now that I'm grown the tops of the stalks still aren't within reach. My sister, cousins and I used to play hide-n-seek in the fields. It made us feel like Alice in Wonderland being so tiny in such a big world. Another thing I love about home is the Mexican food. You can't get closer to the real thing without bringing bottled water along. I think I could eat chips and salsa everyday with a side of BBQ of course. I couldn't believe how windy it was when I took this picture, but it was fun jumping around in the flowers as they danced around me. Even the wildflowers seem to be especially wild in Texas. One thing that makes me a little sad is the farm where I spent most of my time as a kid. It was sold not too long ago. Since I've been away from home the past four years a lot of things have changed. Most of the changes are good, but a lot of them just leave the homesick feeling I have incurable.
This picture makes me laugh. It's my cousin, Sammy. On my last day at home I picked her up from school and hit the ice cream shop before heading back to her house for a girls only slumber party. My family is of course what I miss most about home. They drive me crazy, but the second I leave I miss them all over again.

That's too funny...I feel the same way about my family. Drive me nuts when I'm there, and miss them like crazy when I'm gone. Love the photos and the house you grew up in is so adorable. I love the architecture of it.

What a cool old farmhouse! I love houses like this. I always think it is hard to go back and see the changes from where you grow up. I love the pictures of the wildflowers and the cornfields. I'll bet you and your cousin had fun. Ice cream after school sounds like a special treat. TFS.
