Thank You Tag

The mailman brought me a HUGE box of GCD Studios goodies to play with this week. I've been dying to get into everything, but with finals next week I've had a hard time getting into my craft room. I did manage to make a couple little treats though. Look at this cute little tag made with the fabric tags from The Great Outdoors camping collection. I hope to have every one of the 8 tags from the package fully decorated in the next two weeks. These are going to be really hard for me to part with.

Day 274: She Gets Me

O-M-G! Look what Chelsea did! We totally ransacked Hobby Lobby yesterday with our coupons. I'm so proud! :-) I love having someone in the family that I can go on and on to about how cute buttons and ribbons can be. She gets me!

Thank You, Liz

P.S. Thank you for this, Liz! You're an amazing woman and blog buddy! HUGS! (Check out Liz's blog here. She has a SUPER CUTE class coming up.)

Day 246: My Turn

I figure that I'd better post a card since Vince is starting to hog my blog. That sounds like a good scrapbook layout... "Vince the Blog Hog". He always gets more comments than I do too. He says I'm jealous... :-) Anyway, I've started to make a collection of cards for the lovely Liz. She's a super awesome sweet lady that has "adopted" me for my deployment. Now that gives Vince something to be jealous about. Neener! Neener! Neener!

Day 236: Hey Card

I'm really on a card kick! The border on this card was part of a pre-cut set of border strips. I think they're from Bazzill. Marie sent me the ribbon on this one along with a package of SU! cardstock. She's an SU! demonstrator, so check out her site. There's always a special of some sort going on. Her hubby is deployed over here somewhere. She has her hands full with the little ones at home, but she still manages to do it all. She's even a fellow veteran (Air Force), so you gotta love her!

Uploading

I'm still having a heck of a time getting pictures to load. I'm two weeks behind on getting them loaded. I'm still actively taking photos though. Today we had a training experiment in the aid station. We figured it'd be much better if we actually injected our food with condiments instead of dipping them. I have the whole thing in photos, so you won't miss out. I also documented the huge snowfall we just had during the past two days. There was so much that it even went over my boots. I went through half a dozen pairs of socks yesterday. It was quite annoying. Anyway, my sister, Ella, did blog about miss Lilly Belle today, so check that out by clicking HERE. She's fairly new at blogging, so send her a warm blogland hello! My cousin, Chelsea, also has a blog. You can visit her site HERE.

Little Treasure Box

I told ya I'm on a MM kick! I need to figure out a good way to use up all the little scraps I have still, though. This little box was just too cute to pass up. I bought it last week at my LSS. (Speaking of that... Memories in Bloom just started their very own blog! Stop on over, and tell Georgie I sent ya.) Okay, back to the little box... isn't it the cutest little thing. I used up some of my fuzzy rub-ons from Heidi Swapp that I've had forever. They're such a bugger to work with, but I do love the outcome if only I can be patient. I think I'm going to fill this little thing up with all of my favorite MM flowers and buttons, so they'll be at hand when I need them. They're currently in a cello bag right now. That's no fun, but this little treasure chest is. I feel like a little kid with a secret hiding place for my favorite little things. Heehee!

Tagged

Oh, Michelle, is SOOO UBER SWEET! She became an instant friend through blogging since she's apart of the Army family, and she lives in TEXAS! Who doesn't love that? She tagged me on her blog yesterday morning, too. I've been pretty lame on the blog tags lately, but I think I need to start sharing the virtual hugs again, so here goes.... THE RULES!!! 1. Only five people allowed. 2. Four of them have to be dedicated followers of your blog. One has to be new and live in another part of the world. 3. You have to link back to who gave you the award. Number one HAS to be my best friend, Debbie! Estivalia of course has to be on the list too. We both started blogging around the same time, and she's become one of my closest friends although she lives all the way in Chile! Oh, and Lauren! We went to middle school and high school together. I think we even went to the same elementary school. I love this girl!!! Let's not forget Marie! She's a military girl too, so of course she's THE COOLEST! Hmmm... I need one more person whom is new and from a different part of the world... I just spent over an hour searching for someone ANYONE to add to my list, but I'm still drawing a blank. Does anyone out there have a suggestion???

I've Been Tagged

I was tagged by Marie a couple days ago. It's been a while since I played along, so here we go... What was I doing 10 years ago? Well, I was a couple weeks shy of being 14 years old. (My birthday is May 21st.) I guess that means I was in 8th grade. That was a scary time. I was just a few weeks away from leaving middle school and heading off to the treacherous HIGH SCHOOL! I was in the choir, on the basketball team, and I was also the school mascot, a DUCK! What was I doing 1 year ago? I was down at Fort Benning, Georgia going to Officer Candidate School. I HATED it! 5 favorite snacks? Just five, huh? Let's see... Nilla Wafers, homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, peaches, plums, and Blue Belle Homemade Vanilla ice cream with bananas and pecans! 5 things I would do if I was a millionaire? I'd pay off all of my debts, pay off my family's debts, start a college fund for my future children, start my retirement savings, and buy a new set of golf clubs. 5 things I like doing? I love to take naps with Lilly Belle, laugh at Brad's silly faces, find new places within driving distance that are "undiscovered" to me, play with paper and ribbons, but mostly I love being a Soldier. 5 things I will never wear again? Short skirts, short shorts, anything neon, bikinis, and CULOTTES! Arg! Do you remember those? They're a funky fusion of shorts and a skirt. They're just so wrong! 5 favorite toys? I love my laptop, any craft supplies, roller skates, my camera, and boys! 5 people I am going to tag: Debbie, Danielle, Estivalia, Roree, Anabelle.

Nice Matters Award

It makes me laugh to see all the blog awards that are out there lately. People have their blogs filled top to bottom with the silliest awards. There's worst blog, best blog, weird blog, stupid blog, crafty blog, gross blog, fun blog, pretty blog.... The list goes on and on. Some awards are just nice and sweet while others seem more than a bit narcissistic. Anyhow, the award that got me started on this ramble is the "Nice Matters Award". To me this award is one of the good ones out there. Since we can't pass real hugs around, how about this little ditty instead. I invite everyone to send this award to someone that's been especially nice to you in your blogging adventures. This one was given to me by Risa who is of course such a nice person as well. And the Nice Matters Award goes to....

Here are the 7 bloggers I am tagging: (ok this is difficult, I only have about a million favorites!)

  2. The next one is Estivalia. She lives waaaaay down in Chile!
  3. Wanda gets my next shout-out simply because she's a big sweetheart.
